I was reading the news and I truly enjoy “odd” news stories… Along comes a story that should embarrass and make prison life entertaining for one robber. “Missouri Nuns Chase Down Armed Robber on Foot”… Now after you stop laughing, it gets worse….
A pair of sandal-clad nuns in Missouri chased down an armed robbery suspect and helped police put handcuffs on him…
Now if that wasn’t bad enough…
When he realized he had been spotted the suspect set off on foot and was chased by a nun in flip-flops…
I was just reading on FoxNews that University of Missouri’s journalism school is requiring incoming freshmen to us Apple Macs and iPhone/iPods. I would actually find this important if journalism was a growing business. Since everybody blogs and journalism has turned into nothing but blogging, then who cares….
It’s not like 20% of journalists have disappeared in the last 10 years. Or every major paper in the US has seen its revenue and circulation decline… Oh wait, that is happening…
Which brings to mind, who gets a journalism degree anymore? What career advisor told them that was a good place to go?

As a (trying to be) good Catholic, I am excited to hear that the Pope is going to have a YouTube Channel. One of the reasons I created this site was as a development lab for Catholic based software or web applications. I have a nice list of ideas that will eventually get finished.
It is wonderful news that the Pontiff will start using modern technology to connect with his flock. It is his calling to be the Sheppard and tend to his flock.

As a Catholic I have noticed a “gap” in the available technology resources. There are several great Catholic sites, but compared to Islam or protestant resources, we Catholics seem a little behind the times.
Just the other day I came across “Cathoogle.com”. It is a filtered search engine, based off Google, that prioritizes Catholic information and is also content filtered to remove porn and other offensive content.
So even though I have issues with Google, I am happy to see Google’s superior search being used for some good.
Good luck CatholicGoogle.com….
