Just read some of the blogs about Windows 7 (next version of Vista) and it looks interesting. The most important part of what I have read is the reduction of bloat that Vista has. Vista is slow until you put 2 or more Gig of ram behind it. At work one of the dev systems is Vista x64 with 6 gig of ram (Intel Quad Core) and it screams! So reducing the amount of ram that Windows 7 used would be a great move.
There are many other interesting bits, like integration with Live Dev services (and Azure?)

I was reading through some PHP blogs, as I have gotten back into playing with PHP a little these days. I always liked PHP as a programming language and as a community. I drifted off for a few years due to family and work (dev time was pretty limited).
I was reading a blurb on this site about Azure and PHP. I loved reading this line…
So it’s pretty cool stuff so far, and it’s nice to see that Microsoft is actively supporting PHP on their new platforms.

As a child I was often told I had my head in the clouds… Soon we all will. Microsoft just announced their Cloud OS; Windows Azure.
The Azure Services Platform is said to provide developers with the ability to create applications with existing technologies such as the Microsoft .NET Framework and Visual Studio. – Pocket-Lint
Though I find the idea of "Cloud based" applications and operating systems very interesting, I have to admit there is trepidation about the concept. First and foremost, what happens when you do not have an Internet connection or it is interrupted? I know there are solutions and work around’s, but I still think this is the Achilles of the concept.
