The Zune HD will be launched globally or at the Financial Times puts it
The Zune-branded service – which includes the most popular films from MGM, Paramount and Universal – will be available in 18 of its largest western markets, including the US, UK, France, Germany and Australia.
This is good news as I have been trying to decide to buy the Zune HD or the IPod touch; as my Zune 30 is now getting old. The Touch is a cool device, but I am anti-social enough that I can’t stand being part of the pack.

So it has been a couple months now since I got a Windows Home Server (WHS) and just thought I would post some thoughts on the experience so far. Though it may come off negative, I would rate the WHS a 8.5 out of 10 and have recommended WHS servers to several people.
- Overall it has been an enjoyable experience and the backup function beyond anything else is where the real value is at. Every day the home computers are backed-up and our media is now (more) centralized.

Ok so I ordered the WHS Wednesday late afternoon from Hewlett Packard (HP)… It arrived at 3:02pm Thursday! I ordered it for next day delivery, considering it how much I got off the order. I expected to get the WHS on Friday, not today…. Well I set it up and it has been relatively smooth, I am having a problem finding the server from my work laptop and it may not be possible to install the connector. There are some security issues with my laptop and a home network. My employer configures all computers to be part of a domain and this has caused some issues in the past. The VPN service is also “interesting”…. As long as I can backup my backup drive for the work laptop I am fine….

I just bought a Windows Home Server from HP tonight. I purchased the EX485 that has a single 750 GB hard drive for $449.00. This is a two day sale from HP and is about the best price I have seen for the EX485 in the last 6 months that I have been looking at the WHS systems. I was starting to lean towards building my own system due to costs, but for $449.00 the EX485 is a very good deal… It is also especially good since I purchased it through Bing Cash Back.

I have been driven to frustration this week and it is has really driven me nuts that a very simple thought does not exist…. I have a “problem” or I should say a “want” to store my documents in a searchable form that I can add notes and other thoughts to as a project progresses. Saving old documents to a directory makes it too easy to delete, a file server makes it too easy to forget and just attaching it to a webpage (sharepoint, document server, ect..) is useless. I don’t want to download > open > read > edit > close program > edit page (if needed). I just want to click to see the old document read, move on to whatever. I also don’t want to sit here 5 years later and hope the document hasn’t been corrupted. I would like the information stored in a data base and simply “searched”. I have blogs that date back years and have no problem being rendered with the same information I put up years ago.
