Barry, Listen to Your Uncle Ronny….
I love economics, marketing and business. They are some of the foundational intellectual questions that always fascinate me… This is probably why I am went back to school to learn more about business, marketing and economics.
Even though I don’t want this site to be political, as I express myself politically elsewhere, I have to point out what I see as a bad signs from the Obama administration.
The Obama admin has done many things I wholeheartedly disagree with like promoting abortion and embryonic stem cell research, but have not discussed it here as I see this as my place to discuss technology and business. This week has been a glut of what I see as bad decision that affect the long-term health of the country. I don’t like this trend as it looks to me as the inmates running the asylum.
1. Obama yesterday said he has not ruled out prosecuting advisers to George Bush from being prosecuted. I hope he understands that at some point there will be a “republican” president that may decide to prosecute the Obama administration for their decisions. Like a failure to ensure the public trust and manage the economy. Obama’s budget plan will double the deficit by 2019. I consider that a failure to ensure the public trust and purposefully bankrupting the country. Effectively stealing prosperity from the future. We already owe $36,000 per person in the US towards the deficit! Who wants to now owe $70k? Can we survive that?
Is this what the Obama administration wants? Tit-for-tat prosecutions by for advice, no matter how right or wrong? My advice… walk away now, before we become a banana republic.
2. The Obama administration is now considering converting the TARP loans into common stock… This would make the US government a major stock holder of the largest banks… This is socialism and will end America’s run of prosperity.
Again… walk away now. Let capitalism thrive. Bill Clinton and Ronald Regan understood this and both are remembered as presidents that had a prosperous country. They may have promoted their ideological social agendas, but they understood that it was financed by capitalism.
